Estes Park Rock Climbing
It’s been said the alpine rock climbing quality of Rocky Mountain National Park is rivaled only by the Grand Tetons. See for yourself during a visit to Estes Park. Many of our most popular climbing routes can be found along Lumpy Ridge, which is just a short drive out of town.
A variety of mountains and faces in Lumpy Ridge provide more climbing opportunities than a single visit could cover. These routes have different difficulty levels, so you can choose to explore new terrain while staying within your skill level, or plan a series of climbs that become more challenging.
Several businesses in town can assist you with climbing questions and other needs. The Mountain Shop, located downtown in an enormous warehouse, stocks an assortment of climbing gear and other sports equipment. You can also get warmed up at the EPIC Climbing Gym, which features 4,500 square feet of indoor climbing wall space. Kent Mountain Adventure Center and Colorado Mountain School also offer lessons and other adventures.
Not this adventurous? Enjoy the beautiful view from the tramway!
